ASBMR/BMAS Symposium: BMAT
Open to view video.
Open to view video. Description: Bone marrow adipose has emerged as a unique fat depot with endocrine functions. Moreover, it is an important support structure for hematopoiesis. Yet, how it is regulated during health and disease, how it interacts with its environment, and if there are sex-specific differences is not fully understood. In this session, insights will be provided on the sex- and site-specific regulation of BMAT in humans and in mice, and a novel mouse model will be introduced to study BMAT. Presentations: Mechanisms of BMAT Expansion During CR Including Novel Mouse Models and Diets (Isabel Dorothy Kane Hermsmeyer, MS) Site-specific metabolic profiles of BMAT (Drenka Trivanovic, PhD) Genetic architecture and clinical implications of bone marrow adiposity in the UK Biobank: a meta-GWAS and MR-PheWAS study (Wei Xu)
